Aum Sri Sairam A Report on Nungambakkam Crematorium Cleaning Background Cleanliness is the foundation of all spiritual sadhana, according to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Bhagawan has also said “Cleanliness is Godliness”, and the members of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations (India) (SSSSO), have been practicing this as a Divine Commandment. Bhagawan Baba Himslef was a perfect practitioner of this principle. Needless to say, cleanliness is the hallmark of our Ashram at Puttaparthi and two Super Specialty Hospitals. It must also be noted that cleanliness is one of the ten principles that Baba has given as guidance to our lives among the other principles such as “Love and Serve your Country”, “Honour and Respect all Religions” etc. In line with the emphasis Bhagawan has laid on cleanliness and the “Swachcha Bharath Abhiyan” program launched by Sri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, our organization has embarked on a nation-wide mission called “Swachhata Se Divyata Tak“ to be carried out from 2nd Oct 2016 to 20th Oct 2016. The objectives of the mission are: 1. To become an instrument in making people in general and members of SSSSO in particular, aware of the importance of cleanliness in individual and societal development by setting an example of our own. 2. To further enhance and strengthen SSSSO’s efforts in the cleanliness drive, which we have been doing for many years through Grama Seva, Slum Seva, Hospital Visits, cleaning river banks and Prashanthi Seva etc., under the command of our Lord. 3. To help the stakeholders to form the habit of keeping their surrounding clean. 4. To make every member, bhajan singer, Bal Vikas (BV) student, BV Guru, BV Parent, Seva Dal, teachers and students of Sai Schools, Mahila Vibhag members, Office Bearers and even Trust members participate in this mission. As part of this mission, the Chennai Metro (West) district has decided to undertake the cleaning of the Nungambakkam Burial Ground & Electric Crematorium situ
